Tamil serials

With the advent of the small screen cinema, Tamil serial started their development too. Similar to all of the other language serials Tamil serials are also focused towards family set up. As Indian culture revolves around the family, emotions and marriages, Tamil serials also revolve around the same. Most of the successful serials were fuelled with family sentiments. Among the family sentiment, the most favorite sentiment of Tamil people was the sad emotion and ego between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law.

There are several types of Tamil serials, which were initially given the try. Serials, which are devotional with little graphics effect, were quite famous for some time, but did not entertain youth and males. It entertained females who were mostly devotional in Tamil Nadu. Since females were the maximum percentage of people who stayed at home, all the home media focused and targeted women as their destination of reach. So stories were directed based on the female emotions towards family members and towards devotion.

Slowly the focus shifted from presenting people with problems and various solutions to the problems. Most of the time, these problems are generic faced by all people in their life. For example, almost all serials will have a hero and heroine, who get married. Now the heroine does not get smooth with her mother-in-law for some reason. From which, problem arises in the family. On the other hand, the problem might also arise due to property and will. These are the main areas where Tamil people really face issue in their family and hence they feel it so realistic to see it in the Tamil serials. Since most of the south Indian Tamil families are forced to live in a joint family, the smoothness with people becomes less when new entrants arrive. In addition, Tamil Nadu is now in a state of culture dilemma, where a few people are still so old and differently cultured than the other few who are practical with exact emotions and no over-acting. Since all of such different characters are also portrayed in the Tamil serials it seems quite interesting to people. Some of the notable super-dooper hit Tamil serials with family sentiments were mettioli, kolangal, chithi and sondham.

Tamil serials have become so famous that, most of the famous serials crossed even 1500 episodes. The characters in the serials become one of the members in each of the Tamil family’s. In fact, Tamil serial actors and actresses are more famous than the cine actors and actresses.
