Ilayaraja Songs



Ilayaraja may be said the first among the commendable in amonst the lines of Tamil film music. He sang songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and English. Ilayaraja had utmost love and fondness towards his mother which could be perceived in his pieces of music even today.  His mother, a huge repository of Tamil folk songs, seems to be a very strong influence in his music.  His songs offered simplicity and musicality typical of Tamil folk in an bona fide way, and they extended new sounds- rich instrumentation typical of Western music.
Ilayaraja's persona grew to be a unique one in the history of Tamil cinema: stories, ideas, and castes would be changed to fit his euphony, which swept away the minds of billions of Indians in centreds of films.  Ilayaraja even produced some movies later in his life under the banner-Pavalar productions in rememberance of his brother who died when the family faced exteme poverty.  As a person, Ilayaraja was an introvert; all the time exploring his acquisitions in music.

Ilayaraja entered the tamil film industry and compiled his first tamil music in 1976 for the movie 'Annakili". He adores his seniors in the tamil music field and has great respect for hindi music composers like Ramachandra, Madan Mohan. Ilayaraja is from Tamil Film Industry, Industry of southern India, a cluster of notes devine, scolar of music, genious in playing "4 part harmony", the 1st and the only Indian music conductor to have been rewarded by "London Philharmonic Orchestra", a film musician, was born on 2nd June 1943 in Tamilnadu. Ilayaraja also entered non-film albums, such as "How to Name It" and "Nothing But Wind," which were well-received in India and abroad.
